I recently acquired a used 2005 GC Ltd to replace my totaled 2000 GC Laredo.

Apparently the original owner didn't shy from amenities like leather seats, sun roof, nav system, 5.7L hemi etc... (unless they are all standard for the ltd), but one thing missing is the capability for Automatic Headlights!

My 2000 Laredo had them (also came on with wipers).

My question is: What all will it take to "back fit" to enable Automatic lamps?

I have tracked down and ordered a new multi-function switch (part no. 5143313AF from Mopar @ $88) that has an Auto position. What remains to be determined is if the harness will accommodate (I'm pretty sure the light sensor is also installed). And as I have read on other Jeep forums, whether or not there will need to be an activation code entered by a deal. My part will hopefully arrive in a week or so.


Anyone have any experience or thoughts?


(and please, please, I'm not interested in hearing about the pros and cons of Automatic Headlights, or if your wife's cousin had them on her volvo...
