Default EMERGENCY! brake issues!

Vic: 95 Cherokee Sport 4.0 inline 6 2wd

ok, so i have to go play army for the weekend (in about 11 hours i have to leave!) but my brakes are all screwy

two days ago, i was driving around and my brakes suddenly died, they bit towards the end of a full brake stroke and the entire time i push the brakes i hear a hiss....

i bled the brakes and replaced the brake master cylinder (i assumed that the hiss was the brake booster kicking in....) and the issue still persists!

what am i missing here?!

You have a leak somewhere. The hiss is fluid escaping

Did you bench bleed the new MC before installing it and bleed the brakes after?

Good catch, I didn't notice he replaced the MC.

ALWAYS bench bleed the MC first!

Dont replace parts without a proper diagnostic first.

Sounds like you havea broken brake line somewhere. Are you still loosing fluid?

not losing fluid, bench bled prior to installing.... i'm able to stop it now, i replaced the rear brakes (also bled all the lines after, still good) but i'm starting to write this one off as a torn diaphragm in the brake booster....

i wanted to replace the MC either way so the 56 dollars i spent on a new one (yay military discount!) dosnt bother me

Edit: never lost fluid to my knowledge other then the brake bleeding i did to check for air bubbles, my rear brakes were pretty damn thin, i replaced the fronts about 2 months ago because they started squeaking on me.... i ran out of time to replace the rears and jsut now (last week) got around to replacing them

Need more information.

Did the Jeep become harder to stop during this problem, or did it stop fine and the pedal was just acting funny?
