The remote start is aftermarket and it would work whether the fuse was good or bad.

No power locks, power window, vanity lamps, or cargo lamp . I have a very basic cherokee, not even a tape deck.
If you open drivers door it don't pop so circuit should be good passenger switch is only thing not being used until you open door.

When I tried the driver door it didn't pop but then I went back around and opened the passenger door and it wouldn't pop the fuse either. It could still be any where in the dome lamp cuircut cause what ever was shorting out rectified its self (for the meantime) in between opening the pass and driver doors. Im going to have to wait and see if it does it again to check the driver door. But it was definitely popping the fuse when the pass door was opened at one point.

Okay, so it's intermittent. But you have good reason to suspect this part of the circuit, so give it the hairy eyeball. Start at the switch and follow the wiring to see if you find a problem with it.

Well the driver door also pops the fuse. I looked at a wiring diagram and the power wire is some how shorting out to the ground wire. I'm going to start tearing it apart this weekend.

Ok after tearing stuff apart and looking at wiring diagrams. I found out that the short is in the cargo dome lamp cuircut. Since I dont have a cargo lamp in my jeep and so I dont have to go looking for the short, I just cut the power wire at the fuse box and taped the ends off (I would have unplugged it but there were other wires in that plug also). Im guessing even though I don't have a cargo lamp they still ran the wiring for it. I've been driving around with no radio for a week because my 1 month old take up all my spare time. So I am very happy to have my radio back!
