Default Electrical Problem

Been hving problems with the electrical system. Battery gauge sits around halfway between the 14 and 9 then drops to nothing and the check gauge light comes on. Anyone have any ideas. By the way I replaced the battery and still have this problem.

no running issues that I know of, I just bought my Heep three days ago so not real sure. I have a 97 TJ with a four banger and the Cherokee seems to run just as good

IF you have a DMM hook it up so that while driving you can watch the actual voltage on the DMM. if it stays the same while the dash gauge drops then youll know you have a bad gauge. If the voltage really does drop then youll have to start troubleshooting the electrical system.
