Default Electrical issues! Lots of them

We'll I have started to work on my xj and here are some of the issues
Oil pressure-gas-speedo Don't work
Horn Don't work
Something is draining the battery so I have to disconnect neg terminal after every drive or battery dies. Oh ya and the wiring under the dash is a nightmare! I think the jeep may have had an alarm at one point and that's where all the extra wires are coming from. Any ideas on where to start? Lol

That would be a significant draw. To start with that (the gauge cluster malfunction is another issue), how good is the battery? It could also be bad because its just not holding the charge. Having it load tested is the way to know. Frequent short drives makes the battery charge suboptimal over time as well. And how about your grounds? With a lot of electrical issues, making sure all your grounds are cleaned and re-tightened might sometimes do wonders.
That messy wiring under the dash doesnt sound promising...

Anyway, to start with that draw, here is a link to locate what might be draining your battery. That could be a good start.

Stay with the draw. A digital multimeter is needed,If your not sure how to find the draw; disconnect the negative terminal set your dmm to amperage. Attach your negative probe to the negative battery post and the positive probe to the negative cable. With the key out of the ignition and all accessories off check your current. Start pulling fuses until you see a drop in current.if it doesn't then I'd get into the mess under the dash and look for a custom inline fuse and pull that to. You have two fuse panels so check both. Make sure your battery cables aren't sorting out too.
