Electric cooling fan wont turn off ?

Default Electric cooling fan wont turn off ?

Hi, my motor was getting rather warm the other day, didnt think much but whilst sorting something else noticied the fuse for the elec fan was missing, so ive put one in and now it runs all the time, except when the motors turned off ? whats up with that ?

some one may have it hard wired....does your tep guage read correct?

Hi, i believe it does as ive been doing work to stabalise the temps - they were fluctuating quite a bit. i cant see any hard wiring anywhere.

it does have aircon, which funily enough i have pulled the plug at the compressor (pump) as it was kicking in now and then when i didnt want it too. i dont need aircon in the uk ! so i havnt looked any further than that.
what are you thinking ? -thanks by the way

Well the electric fan is an auxiliary fan. It is used when the a/c is on.

try pulling the plug at the pressure switch.

I have the opposite problem, haha, my aux fan never turns on, haha

The A/C Clutch cycles anytime the heater/air control is ON. Drives ya nuts Huh?? I unplug mine in the winter months.

Sounds like someone direct wired your fan and then pulled the fuse to shut it off. Likely a bad temp sensor and they have it jumpered !

lol i also have this problem. so from what you guys are saying the electric fan will only run when the a/c is on? where is the fuse for it under the hood or in the cabin with the other fuses?

No your fan should turn on once the Coolant switch reaches 220-230 Ish...so you may have a faulty Coolant Switch or a bad Fan...or a wiring issue..and then there is always the fuse and relay.
