me and my friend are alittle confused over this 88 cherokee 4x4 4.0L. it will only start when we hook up jumper cables after it starts it runs fine till u turn on something electric then it bogs out and dies after it dies it appears to not have any power. the battery was tested and its good and i put a volt gauge on it and it has 12 volts like normal. any one have any ideas and could help it would be really greatful.

quick test.

1.) jump the jeep off with jumper cables.

2.)Once its running take the jumper cables off.

3.) Take the negative battery cable off.

If the jeep dies its your alt.
