My electric door locks only work intermittently, sometimes they all work, other times the rear doors will work and not the front.


I have read a little about taking the door panels off and cleaning something in the locking system.


Do you think this is my case?
Is there a write up telling and showing how to do this?

That can be the problem. But a lot of the time there is a bad wire in the rubber boot between the door and the door jamb. You will have to pull the boot back and check all or the wires.

I had the same issue in my '01. Removed the dome light where the elec board is for the keyless system. Blew the dust off with air duster and soldered one of the connections. No problem since. May be worth a look.

Well today they locked when I went to work and then would not unlock when I left.

Tell me more about the board behind the dome lite, mine is a 1999, I wonder if they are the same, I have two dome lights and an overhead console.

I don't have the long overhead console. Just a little dome light with two courtesy lamps. Inside there is a small electronic board. It's the receiver for the keyless entry. When I pulled it out, it was covered in dust. One of the connectors that is soldered wasn't so I repaired it.
