So when i was doing my gears and axle swaps i bent the hell out of my driver side front dust cover that goes behind the rotor, can i just take this off and leave it off? what harm will be done....... i plan on just jacking that side of the axle up and pullin my axle and removing it real quick tomorrow so i can drive down the street with out it scratching against the rotor. good idea or bad?

i'm not an expert on this, but i've heard of guys taking them off because rocks keep getting stuck in there. i can't see it being a problem i've considered doing it myself since mines barely there anymore, with the way we use our jeeps it probably keeps the rotor cleaner without it.
