I have a 1995 Cherokee and it has a dummy light. I feel more comfortable if I really knew what my temp was at for this engine. What would be the best / less costly way of getting a gauge for the temp? Would I have to tap into the thermostat? Any websites selling this ? thanks T

 

You can get one at "Harbor Freight" that works well or just about any auto parts store. The sensor is in the right rear of the motor, the one in the thermostat housing is for the E-fan...Tj

good gauges, good prices, I use them for my cars.

 

why not hit the junk yard and get the dash panel out of a nother xj with all the gauges and the sensors and swap it in

Thats not a bad idea. Wonder how much of a pain it would be to swap.

 

well the odometer would be wrong if its analog being a 95. Its just as easy to install an aftermarket and it will be alot more acurate.
