Default Driving with broken rear shock mount

I was fixing something ele underneath my jeep and noticed my right rear upper shock mount has completely snapped off the frame. It couldn't have been like that for long but i notice the scraping sound now.

Just wondering if it is alright to drive from work and back a mile away for another day or two until i get it welded back together. I plan on just removing the shock completely since it's just rubbing against the underside and rubbing on the muffler.

Yeah, just pull it off and do what you gotta do. It'll bounce a little funny in the rear but will be fine. Fix it when you can.

Like lowrange2 said, you'll be fine. When I got my XJ, it had a broken leaf in each pack and one shock was completely taken out and I drove to work a mile or so for a couple days and did just fine

Other than ill handling effects, one of the worst thing it will do is cause excessive tire wear and wear linkage points from the excessive jounce over time.

Haha. Funny to see I'm not the only one rocking a single rear shock. All four of my upper bolts busted. I road for a week with no rears. It wasn't bad until I got my rear end off the ground on the highway. I got one rear on and have been too lazy to deal with the other. So ya. You're good for a while.
