Default Drivetrain compatability

I've been looking around for a while and still dont fully understand what to look for, i have a 98 2wd and am looking for a parts jeep

Anybody know for sure which jeeps are compatible???

Drive train or body and trim. Drivetrain and wiring there will be differences from year to year with some easier to adapt than others. Body 97-01 most all parts are the same.

Should i only go with 98 to ensure perfect match or will an older model do?? I find alot of 92-95's cheap could i just use those and add wiring?
