Post Driveshaft question

Yesterday i blew a universal in my jeep i didnt know what the vibration was til i got home and looked under and saw one of the bearings popped out. Well anyway when i took off the drive shaft to replace it and saw that the hole where the cap popped off gotten bent and cracked. One of my friends has a ton of cherokee parts and says he has an extra driveshaft but i dont know if it will fit on the same. He doesn't live close but he said he'll sell me it for 30bucks its off an older xj and idk if it'll fit my 98. Would it fit on or should i just order a new one out of napa?

It will fit as long as the transfer case and rear axle are the same.
