Thumbs up Drivers sider, above rear leafs, FUEL LEAK

Yep, Ive begun smelling fuel lately when I park. I was standing back at an angle today and saw the drips (~1 every 2 seconds! made a small puddle, then stopped. I believe that is the FUEL PUMP? in the picture. Possibly bad stainless steel clamp job previous? seems its evacuating pressure after the engine is turned off via a leak. seems to imminate from the PUMP? then flow down a brake line onto my axle. The blue lines in the picture represent the leak path. I believe that my fuel pump and filter were replaced in 2009?

Ok guys, you rock, lets see how good you are!! ITS the ONE day of sunshine here in Corvallis Oregon, I'd like to fix it today :-)

Happy easter jeeper creepers!

Your fuel pump is internal to the fuel tank. The picture shows your fuel filter..

Go pick one up, make sure it includes the short rubber hoses as well and simply replace it.

I thought that 92 still had the external fuel pump? I know that when I had my 95 it had an external one. Although I don't know if my 95 was changed out by the PO???

up to 95 the fuel pump was accessible via the front of the tank.
later years, you had to drop the tank to get to the pump from the top.

this pic however is the fuel filter. they're kinda pricey for what they are, but you may just have a leaky line.
inspect your line, cut off the split end and refasten to the fuel filter and see if that stops the leak.

That's what I thought, Just wasn't 100% positive. BTW, I did notice that the pict was of the filter not the pump.
Thanks caged for clearing that up for me.

nice guys, Ya.. i didnt put much time into inspection yet. I knew one or the other was in the tank. My jeep guzzles, and lately has had a slight rough idle. maybe the filter is clogged/ failing after ~4 years. that would probably explain it. How much for filter? ballpark?

i wasn't trying to prove anyone wrong, just trying to make it clearer than mud. lol.

ballpark price for a filter is 20 - 30 bux.

I paid $13 for mine, at O'Really's. It's a Wix filter so not bad. I bought a couple bucks worth of fuel line and replaced that, too... as long as I was in there and already covered in gas.

Me either, I just wanted to clear it up for me. If it cleared it up for others great. But I wanted to clear it up in my head or I would had to keep trying to find the answer for me to know.
