I have just purchased an 92 XJ Sport and need to replace the drivers seat (refurbished or aftermarket). This is the second 92 XJ and it seems like all the driver seat frames and supports are broken in one way or another. I am finding it difficult to find a replacement (after market) seat base or full seat with base. Anyone know where I should look?

All you have to di is get a good used bottom cushion from the junkyard and swap your upholstery on to it. Super easy.

 

I managed to locate a '90 in a nearby salvage yard that actually had good seats in them. They were the same color, but a slightly different pattern.

As far as I know, the actually seat pan/cushion is no longer available. You can get aftermarket seats but some fabrication or adapter may be needed to fit the seat base.

You can get seats out of other model year XJs, and even ZJs and WJs.

The bottom cushion has a fairly long cantilever from the mounting bolt to the edge of the seat. Not surprising that 30+ years of use has fatigued it so badly.

Here's a pic of the cracked driver seat from my '88. All better now with the '90 parts. Note, the red circles show the mounting hole locations. You can see how far the cushion edge is from the support.
