Default Driver Door unresponsive to lock key turn

Recently my driver door has no effect when I put the key in to lock/unlock it. I assume something came off track inside the door panel. Just curious if anyone has this. Just trying to get some experience help before I rip my door apart and try to fix 7 things when its only one. Thanks for any help

Either the locking mechanism is played out or the rod came loose.

Usually (In my case), the lock mech is broken.

You have to replace the door latch. It's no big deal. Takes 20 minutes if you have small hands.

If the rod just came off then it should take 6 minutes to fix it and 5 minutes to drink a beer.

It's pretty self explanatory when you look at it. Pull the door panel, 3 bolts and the rods.

You're going to need a good flash light.
