driveline service
Hi,
I recently bought a 2008 Cherokee and the dealership (not where I bought it) is telling me I need to do a drive line service or the warranty could be voided. I bought the Jeep with 19k and it has just under 30K now. Since it is all wheel they are saying this service is needed every 15K and my vehicle has no history of this being done. So, does this service need to be done? and if so is it really every 15K the cost of the service is $400....Thanks for the advice

First off, there is no such thing as a "2008 cherokee", they stopped making them 2001 so your post should be under oem grand cherokee tech
Second, The service they are talking about is the changing of fluid/ inspection of the differentials, transfer case, and transmission. This should done 20-25k miles depending on how you drive it, waay less if you offroad it. The service is going to be pricey but $400 is a bit much, if I Were you I'd look for a reputable Mr. Transmission and have them do it. Stealerships have a habit of jacking the price up AND doing unsatisfactory work.

No problem on the info... It is in the wrong spot tho. there is no such thing as a 2008 Cherokee (xj), there is however a 2008 grand Cherokee. Big difference in vehicles lol
