so i snapped my drive shaft last night and im calling around to junk yards to find one, and im wondering if there are certain years that WON'T fit in my jeep because there seem to be very few older xj's in junkyards. i know it needs to match with a manual trans and 4wd from a 4.0, but im not sure if different years have different lengths/splines. help is appreciated

 

Best method is to measure your DS and go to the yard with a tape measure and find one that will work. Length depends on what trans, Tcase and rear end
