Drive shaft problem
 

i have a 96 jeep cherokee 4.0l straight 6.
the drive shaft is pulled out about 1 1/2 inch.
its happen when i put a 3inch lift on it.
what do i need to do?

im learning as i go..how do i find out.

everything is stock..
there is no sye or t case

is that the shaft position with the wheels on the ground or with the axle hanging?

drop the crossmember 1 inch and you good

so you have a 2 wheel drive jeep then. ok is your tranny an auto or a manual?

that with the wheels on the ground...i have a 31 procomps on there

and its a auto

what is the crossmember?

crossmember is the thing that holds your trans to both frame rails

Well if you where closer to MI i would give you my 2wd rear DS from a manual and that would fix it cause the manual trans is shorter than the auto. But if your not getting vibes from it and not wheeling it, id say you will be fine. I ran too short of a DS on the street and it didnt do anything.

section holding up your transmistion one side of the unibody "frame" rail to the other. If your kit came with a transfercase drop kit (tc drop) then that is what he is referring too.

will that work cause im having serious problems know with it switching gears?

im not doing any hardcore off roading..

Search, read, search, read THEN start working. Its extremely difficult to help someone who doesnt know the basics like what the crossmember is for example.

I dont mean to be an *** but we cant give directions to something when you dont know what the parts around what you're trying to fix is called.

ok i guess im going to try to drop the crossmember down..im going to go get the kit.

So your Jeep is 2wd, not 4x4? Are you in the DFW area? If so PM me, maybe I can be of assistance.
