Default Drive Shaft loose with new u-bolts

A couple weeks ago my driveshaft fell off on the highway and damaged my rear tail cone housing on my NP231. I went to the junkyard and bought a new one along with a new driveshaft since that had also been damaged. Today I went to install both of them. The tail cone housing installed perfectly and when I went to put the driveshaft in it was loose after I tightened the brand new u-bolts as tight as I could.
What am I doing wrong?

Edit: When the driveshaft fell off the little "nub" on the pinion yoke, that prevents the driveshaft from sliding, fell off. Do I need that?

Hard to really tell from the pics, but the straps appear to be the wrong ones for those bearing caps...
Take one off, and see if the bearing cap will actually lay in & fit the pinion flange tight. If it does, the local auto parts place may have straps to fit right and hold the bearing caps in tight.

Yes that little nub is very important. You need a new yoke since yours is broken. Also agree that the straps look wrong for that ujoint.
