Default Door Speaker Install

Radio and new speakers going in the XJ today. Anything special I need to look for in the doors as far as cleaning or lubricating power window stuff? They operate decent. Just wondering if anyone had any tip/tricks to help out.

Speaker wires are in the doors. Night and day difference when you upgrade the wires that run from the headunit to the speakers. Easy to do, fish through the rubber wire things at the door jambs with a clothes hanger.

Night and day how? Better sound or higher volume?

Better yet, just tape the new wires to the old ones, pull the old ones out, dragging the new ones along for the ride. No coat hanger needed.

I put 6.5" Pioneers in my doors with the original wires. I'm not running an amp though. Good enough for the Pioneer head unit to power through. These 6.5"s have screw holes that fit the 5.25" hole pattern. All I had to do was shim the speakers out to clear the door stamping.

No clue how to lube the power window stuff, but I did lubricate all the door locks, hinges, handles, linkages, etc when I had my door panels off. Also treated a bunch of small rusty spots on the inside of the door.

I even went one step further and washed the interior door panel with simple green to get it super duper clean.
