my rear hatch door rattles, i think it shakes back and forth when i hit bumps or uneven parts of the road. i put a new striker bolt in and mounted it as far forwards as i could. it helped a little bit, but i was wondering if something in the latch part is worn out. anybody have a similar issue?

 

It could be a part in the latch but most of the time it is a worn out weather strip,easy enough to check ,if thats not it then I wpould look to the latch

It's the pin on the frame that is worn. If you look at it carefully you will notice that the latch has started to cut it in the middle.
An easy temporary fix is a dozen of turns of electrical tape around the pin.

 

i just replaced the pin due to it being worn. if i look at the actual latch though i can see where the pin wore in that.
