I did everything, the steering column in the 91 was broken beyond repair so i pulled the lock and installed it in the 85 column. I swapped the entire interior into my 85 and swapped the hatch lock in. The only thing left of the 85 is the shell, it started with the need for power. I bought my jeep in 87 and built and wheeled it with a carbed 2.5 and 4 speed until over 260,000 miles at which time i found a wrecked 91 with a HO 4.0, 5 speed, 231, grey cloth interior. 3 weeks later i had it on the road.
The glove box lock should switch straight across.
The column stayed the same until 95 i believe.

The door lock cylinders will clip in tight, but there are small gaps around the sides and you will have to modify the linkage a bit to make it work. The lock for the steering column is a direct fit, and easy to do!

Wow, those are quite a bit smaller.
I'd have to find some kind of washer, gasket, or something to fill that gap. seems like it would whistle on the freeway... lol

Well, thanks. I appreciate the pics - this helps.

I like the newer keys, but to me it would be no good having it look like you might be able to shove a screwdriver in there...
.. they already break in newer cars, with solid locks around here - It would have to look tight.

I'm gonna keep looking into this - I don't mind working on linkage, or a washer, maybe clear plastic so I could mount a key-light behind it.??

Thanks again
