Check your "new" door switches to ensure you adjusted them correctly so the doors will in fact atuate them to turn the lights off. If they are good then I would get a replacement main headlight switch. If neither of those fix it, it's time to dig into the wiring because you have a short somewhere.

are you sure you don't have the dome light turned on at the light switch
rotate the light switch counter clock wise tell it clicks to turn it on
then back past the click to turn it of
if you have a delay it will stay on for a little while then go of after you close the door

If you push the switch by the hinges with your finger & the lights go out, then it could be that your door doesn't always make contact with the switch. You might have to adjust your door hinge to make sure the door is making full contact with the switch when it closes.
My door got twisted once (long story) and now when it closes the lights sometimes stay on. My solution: I got a small round refrigerator magnet. Attach magnet to portion of door that should contact the switch. Obviously it stays there. When I close the door the magnet fills the gap & makes full contact with the switch. Problem solved.

Sorry I havn't replied to this post in a while. I havn't gotten around to it is all. I'm pretty convinced the problem is the headlight switch. I'll let you guys know the outcome when I get another.
Check to see if you have a switch on the rearmost dome light. press it and see if the lights work correctly. If so, it is your hatch light switch. I had that problem with mine. it was corroded and stuck on. cleaned it up and it was fine, but now it wont work at all. Mine is a 92 so it may be different, but sound very much like my problem. Mine is a Cherokee Sport and it DOES have the headlight delay module. When you shut off the ignition before turning off the headlights, it activates the delay when you shut off the lights.
The rear hatch doesn't have a pin, but has a light switch which is part of the latch mechanism. It apparently collects a lot of moisture because mine is pretty corroded. The only way to really get in there and do anything to remedy the problem is to remove the rear hatch panel to access the latch. The light switch for the rear hatch override is on the rearmost dome light bezel or is the lens itself if it is a newer model.
I found which door switch was doing it got a thin magnet put on door opposite of door jam switch button and behold the light goes off and the magnet stays in place until u replace courtesy switch which cost five dollars

This happend to me, I JB welded a nickle onto the inside of the door so it contacts with the switch and pushes it in far enough now. I painted the nickle white to match the door but not necessary cause you can't really see it anyway.

If you replace the switch, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't let the wires fall back into the hole, (you'll know what I'm talking about if you replace it).
