Default dome/door light problem

I have a 98 sport that the dome lights and the underdash lights always stay on. I pulled the fuses for them so it doesn't kill my battery till I get a chance to check it out. Has anyone else come across this problem I'm suspecting either the headlight switch or switches on the door frames.

my guess is that the switch on the door panel has failed. try relplacing that. Havent heard of this happening before, but that would be my guess.

It's one of the door switches. I've had the push in on the housing, on my ZJ. Tape a penny to the door where the switch contacts, see if that solves the problem. You will still have to go in and fix it at some point, the penny will push it in more eventually.

pull the switch and put the wires together for now. then when you get another switch, just put it back in and plug the wires back up

It's the door plunger style, light switch. When the door is open the plunger extends fully completing the circuit. (It shorted out, not really shorted. But now makes constant contact) There about $5.00 at a auto parts store. Don't worry about it being longer, then the old one. Install new one, and shut the door. they self adjust them selves. Easy fix.
