when you say that you love the sound it makes without the silencer, do you mean it sounds like a turbo?

remove clip connecting intake tube to air box, pull it out, put clip back on, call it a day

kinda. The sound of it pulling air in like a vacuum almost... mixed in with the whistle of it like a turbo. If you have ever stuck your foot into it and heard the muted roar from the engine other then the roar of your exhaust. That sound.

Default YES IT DOES

I noticed a great difference in performance on 99 Cherokee sport after changing my old filter to a new Spectra! It shifts faster and better, plus I feel it in the throttle! It's worth it! Also, days before changing to new filter I put a cleaner t.b. on aswell as checked a few sensors... VERY WELL...
