Default Does a 1996 Cherokee XJ have a rear track bar?

Car repair place (Burt Bros) is stating I need the front and rear track bar replaced. I had them do the front. Question: Does a 96 Cherokee XJ have a rear track bar? I only ask because you cannot find a rear track bar part anywhere on the web. They are all front.

Thanks - I am a first time XJ owner.

No track bar, and don't let them touch the rear sway bar. It's useless.

Unless you pull stuff with your xj. I would recomend keeping it on if thats how you use your xj. Why did you send it to the shop anyways? Shaking? what?

No. It's so small to make a difference. You can fold it with your hands. It doesn't matter.

No, I grilled them on it. it is in my quote they printed out for me for other things needing fixed. I knew the front track bar was worn because when I drive on snow packed roads and hit some thick snow, the steering would cause the jeep to sway and swerve a bit. They showed me the front sway and the worn out bushing. But later they stated it needed the rear too but I was too much of a hurry to have them show me.

Call their bluff, and review the rest of the list of repairs if they lied about one thing the probably lied about other things.

Yeah, there isn't a rear track bar. The axle is located by the springs. Fix the front one though, it's one big culprit behind death wobble.

The snow issue will happen no matter what. I just got new tie rod ends and a beefy a@@ trac bar and the steering still jerks one way if i hit the tires right. Somethings you just cant do anyything about it. Get a different quote from another sho[p?

I will not return to them. I actually took it in because I think the fuel pump is worn. Since I only had the jeep 2 months, I had them do a complete inspection of everything that needs attention.

If you feel iffy about anything else, post questions here, there are some very knowledgeable people on this site.
