Disconnect efan -- does it set CEL?

Disconnect efan -- does it set CEL?

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0. I want to disconnect my efan and run it from a seperate relay with it's own temp control. Would this set a check engine light?

dont think so, as long as its not back feeding but its gotta come on when you use ac also remember

I ran mine for a year without an electric fan... only ran AC on freeway... tried to avoid traffic on hot days. I never got any sort of light.

I don't see why it would on newer XJ's but I've been wrong before.
