Default Difficulty of swapping 2wd transmission?

So I took my96 2wd jeep into the shop to check out all the issues it has been having and they said my torque converter is bad. I picked up a tranny from a 94 tonight with 90,000 on the odometer. I am debating on whether or not to do the swap myself or pay someone to do it. I have done 2 manual transmission changes on imports and am trying to find out the difficulty of this job. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Imo, i think its easier. No need to take tires, hubs, cv shafts out. If your jeeps auto, that tranny is gonna be A LOT heavier than a manual trans.

if you just want a commuter get somthing wtih better mileage.

anyway yeah, 2wd trannys are pretty straightfoward, unhook everything, remove transmission, install in reverse procedure.

Its not just my commuter. I use it to commute yes but like I said before I play in the dirt and also do a lot of camping. I was told that the exhaust is in the way and that it is a pain to get the exhaust system out of the way. Any suggestions? Thanks
