Default different tire sizes

i've noticed that i'm going to need to get at least 2 new tires for my inspection at the end of the year. i currently have a stock xj with 225/75 tires on. looking around at tires and prices of the many different choices i found a 235/75 (goodyear wrangler) tire at my local walmart for $70.
this may possibly be a dumb question but ..... would it be bad if i got those (235/75) for the rear and left the (225/75) on the front?? when i looked up the sizes it seemed that the 225 = 28.4 ish and 235 = 28.6 ish. they seem so close so i'm curious if it would be ok?

thank you.

Mathematically 225/75/15 is 28.3" dia and 235/75/15 is 28.9" dia.

If you are planning on using 4wd, then don't do it. It will kill your transfer case.

would anybody be able to explain why its such a bad idea to go with the two different sizes? i guess its a little confusing to me since the numbers seem so close together.
thanks.

In 4X2, two different tire diameters (front/rear) is ok. In 4X4, two different tire diameters will cause the front/rear axles to rotate at different speeds/ratios........kinda fighting each other.
