Default A different heating issue

I bought my Jeep at the end of last summer and it was having slight issues with going up to the second notch above 210. I changed the thermostat and flushed the system. The problem went away untill i took a two hour drive, then it came back when i would drive for over an hour at a time. When the weather cooled off, it ran perfectly (right below 210). So when the weather is cold it runs great. Now we are starting to get nice weather again, the problem is back. Does anybody have an idea where i should start? I dont have water in the oil, and no leaks.

Water pump, fan clutch, radiator......just git 'er done....hot weather's comin'. T-stat only controls MINIMUM coolant temp....the rest of the cooling system along with ambient temp effects max temps.

Sounds like a cooling fan. Heats up when you stop. Cools off when you drive. Deff sounds like a cooling. Pull the fan rely and use a paper clip to jump the terminals. If it comes on. Replace rely for 5 bucks. If not start testing the wiring. And the fan its self. Good luck.

freegdr- I thought that too, And it feels tight to me but I have no base of comparison. So I read on this or another forum that if it can be stopped while running with a newspaper than it is bad. Tried it and ended up with confetti, so I figuerd it was good

Bones99xj- its a 2000 and from what i understand, they dont need burped. but to be on the safe side I have ran it with radiator cap off and squeezed the top hose to try to get the air out of the system if there was any

I flushed it either in Ocober or November. I used the prestone cleaner and ran it for about 20 minutes and did flush a bunch of orange gunk out.

the radiator doesnt look bad but I cant say for sure about a newspaper sticking to the radiator, but will try it tommorrow.
