Difference in side view mirrors
I need a side view mirror after flopping my XJ on its lid a while back. A buddy of mine has a pair from a 99. Looking through the parts catalog I see 84-96 listed. and 97-01
The 97-01 doesnt look to have the cable to adjust...so they must adjust differently. If this is the case then I cant run the 97-01 mirrors then huh?

Yes you can use the newer mirrors. You don't need the remote. Once you click the glass into place it stays there & doesn't need further adjustment - unless someone else is driving the Jeep. In that case you simply click the glass into place with your thumb. It has "teeth" inside that hold it in place.
I would suggest you try & get the little black triangle piece from the donor Jeep to replace your piece with the hole for the remote. Not necessary for operation, it will just give the install a finished look.
