What is the diff between them?

 

The police one may have heavy duty suspension, rear end, charging system and towing package...Tj

 

I Have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ Police package ...and I have 10" drums vs. the 9" drums...heavy duty cooling and tran cooler....extended idle button (raises the idle 250rpm)...I think it has a heavier duty springs.

Not sure what else there may be for difference to a non police XJ.

OH...and rubber flooring...instead of carpet.

 

most of the poilce models have the d44 rearend also i believe.

yea i got a 1996 cherokee just got it, i was just wondering im new to cherokees

 

on the police model xj there is a switch to raise the idle right by the fog and wiper

With Cherokees there wasn't a 'standard' police package like some other vehicles.

There were a list of options a department could add to whatever Cherokee they wanted. I looked at one some time ago at an auction that had the limited leather seats in the front.. but a hard plastic bench for a seat in the back....

 

Yeah...I have the plastic bench.

 

i have a cloth leather seats up front and a vinil type leatherr seat in the back, the back seat is like brand new lol

 

Some came with the gears on the steering opposed to on the floor too I believe.

i found a police jeep at the jy yesterday with a partial roll cage that i took out its pretty sweet for $15

Is it roll-bar, or is the frame from having a rear cage????
