Couple things to keep in mind. Before taking the cover off, make sure you can get the fill plug out. You'll have a bad time finding out that the plug is frozen shut after taking the cover off, having no fluid in it and no way to fill it up.

Also, when taking the cover off, loosen the top bolt about halfway and then take the other bolts out. Then break the seal to drain the differential. You want that top bolt in to hold the cover and avoid a huge, nasty mess

Tell me about it, lol. I did that and it wasn't fun. Had to heat the plug and let it cool to break it loose. Of course my torch was out of mapp gas and the only vehicle I had available had an empty diff.

Might want to consider a synthetic or synthetic-blend to toss in there if it's not a limited-slip. Im running a blend in my '92 front and rear.

Also suggest using the BLACK rtv as it's immune to oil/solvents more-so than the red or blue.

It just makes it more difficult to clean off next time.
