Already notice a smoother idle. Have only driven it around the block so far. Can't say if the throttle response is any faster but it's definitely smoother.
Definitely gonna watch the MPG for improvement. Will post up what I get.

This is perfect, I have a 98 as well and have been contemplating whether to do this or not and if to get new or just get them from a Junkyard. What engine did the neon have and do you remember what year?

Thanks for the help

Single cam 2.0 Neon from 1995 should have the injectors you seek.

Mine came from a '97. The part numbers are right on the side of the injectors. 0280155703 on one side, 5277739 on the other.

So WHY does the injector swap get better performance and better fuel economy? The swap is from a 4 cylinder motor so does the injector flow less fuel? This may cause better fuel economy and create a leaner burn making both statements (other claims) true but whats a long term effect?
Big question is WHY does this work better?

the OEM XJ is a single hole injector the 4 banger one flow the same rate but with 4 holes so better atomization of the fuel, thus a little better burn so little better response idle and maybe a MPG pick up though that's more from putting in clean injectors

You can only do this swap if you have a MPI 4.0L or 2.5L engine. This will not work with the TBI 2.5L. This applies to 1987-2001 Cherokees

The injectors are also different for a 1999-2001 Cherokee.
87-98 *703 injectors
99-01 *784 injectors

bingo! what i did was about $115 i got 4 brand new Ev6(4 hole) injectors(used housings with all new internals and the test sheet for flow rate and what not).

Same thing. and cheaper, plus they were new
