I have a Hersteller Westmont Technix Type E6 sunroof in my 2k Sport. I've tired to find info on this product but nothing seems to be available. I'm going to assume the mfg is out of business. Any ideas where I can find install/troubleshooting info? My sunroof opens OK but when I close it, the unit does close but where you would expect it to stop it does with a noise you would equate to the window coming to its stop position but not activate the close switch.

 

I have an ASC sunroof in my ZJ. I've found that most of the sunroof companies give very little info to the general public. I've been looking for info on mine, but have not found too much. I just adjusted mine until it fit the hole where I wanted it, and then never plan to open it again. I will never own another vehicle with a sunroof. I've had three so far, and maybe opened them a total of 8 times between the three.

 

I have been installing Aftermarket moonroofs and sunroofs for years. ASC is now INALFA and WESTMOUNT is long gone and there roofs were junk. Best thing to do is talk to someone you know at a new car dealer and find out who is doing there aftermarket moonrooof and sunroofs installs. Those places can help you out. Dealers do not do that work in house, somebody else does it.

 

i have the same westmont sunroof and the only thing that works on it is the button, the motor turn and thats about it. it missing the cover for the sun, and in south texas the top of my head and ears are burnt

 

I had my sunroof tinted with the darkest color just because of the problem you are having....too much sun. The tint does the job! At this point I don't open the sunroof much and don't plan to. Sunroofs are eye candy that helps to sell to the next buyer!

 

My shade was in pretty bad shape when I bought my ZJ. I reinforced it with some fiber glass resin and mesh, then I recovered it with new headliner material, turned out pretty nice. I still hate the sunroof though.

 

i got a sunroof in mine. somebody told mine was made by lund. the thing i like about mine is its all manual. it doesnt slide just tilts open. but if i want to take the glass out all i have to do is unscrew the glass from the hinges in the front and it has a quick release in the rear and the glass pops right out. takes a total of 1 min to take it out and 2 min to put it back in..
