Default Desperately need advice!

Ok, here goes. I recently bought a 2000 xj, 4.0, 4x4, automatic with a 2 inch lift. I got a deal on it cause the oil pressure was low. The truck ran fine though. I had my buddy put a new oil pump in. He removed the coil pack and cam sensor to prime the new pump. He supposedly re-installed the cam sensor (via youtube video) correctly by getting the engine on tdc and installing the sensor with the toothpick method. Now the truck won't run. It cranks revs up for a few seconds, stutters and quites.
The check engine light came on. The code is PO352, which is supposedly a bad coil. I replaced the coil but with no change. Could the timing being off cause this issue AND that code?

You sure was dropped @ TDC and not 180° off?

"I replaced the coil but with no change"

You cleared the code and it returned?

I cleared the code and it came back. He assures me that it's in time. But I doubt him. I mean, he had to YouTube how. Lol Will the timing being off make the po352 code pop the check engine light?

if it was 180* out it wouldn't run at all...

fire it up, and feather the throttle to keep it running for a few minutes- hawk eye the gauges- if no oil pressure, kill it quick.... after running for a few minutes, kill it, fire it up again and report back.

I can't get it to crank at all. It tries to but just won't. It gives up and backfires.

Could that make codes for a faulty coil pop?
