Default to delete or not delete??????

ok so heres my problem. i was driving around my town the other day and i felt a poping through my throttle cable and came to find that my cruise control stopped working... i checked the cables and vacume lines and found that nothing was broken...

i cant figure out whats wrong or what caused the poping.
if i cant figure it out or no one knows what it is i was going to delete my cruise control akk together but i dont know how much work it is or how to do it. also i wanted to know how much more room i would have in my engine bay and how much horse power i would gain.

if anyone can help my fix it that would be great... but if not i would like to know how to completely remove it a picture of what the engine bay lookes like and if i do gain any horses how many would i gain?

Where in Nj are you located... you could have a vacum leak... that might be the popping sound you hear.... what year is your Jeep?

no horse power gain from taking out. In fact you might make your jeep run like crap since its vacume activated. If you want to see if its the problem then take the cable off the throttle body and zip tie it out of the way.

If it is popping when you first step on the gas you might need to clean the throttle body, it could be caked up with crud.

i cleaned it about a month ago and made it spottless... the only time it popped was right before the cruise control stopped working
