Default Death Wobble on my 97 Cherokee Country

I have a 1997 Cherokee Country that the front end started shaking terribly and it feels like the wheel is going to fall off. Now i can't even drive it because when i turn the wheel literally feels like its going to come off.

I don't know what the problem is. I am going to take it to a friend who's a mechanic, but I'd like to know what is wrong with it.

That would be great if someone could help me out.

Thanks.

This only happens when you turn? Not when driving at 50-60 down the higway and hit a bump? Sound like U-joints or hub bearings to me, NOT, Death Wobble.....

Sounds like wheel bearing or ball joints. If your luck is as good as mine it will be both.

Could also be tie-rods or maybe just check your lug nuts. Ive had a few lugs loosen on me before.

OK.... You need to check ALL the front steering and suspension components. Death wobble is causes by worn parts. Start with your alignment and tire balance. Then look for movement in the track-bar mounts and ball joints. Have somebody turn the steering wheel back and forth while you lay under the jeep looking for abnormal movements. Also check the Tie rod ends and the control arm bushings, shocks, steering box and steering stabilizer.

have your tires balanced, the vibration from unbalanced tires can cause your jeep to develop a real death wobble
