Everybody who has a lifted XJ has or soon will get Death Wobble, or severe vibration. It is caused by worn suspension and steering parts. Have an assistant turn the steering wheel back and forth as you look for abnormal movement in the components under the jeep. Check the Ball Joints, the trackbar mounts, the Tie Rod ends, the control arm and sway bar bushings, the steering gear, Wheel bearings, u-joints, the shocks and the stabilizer, alignment (toe and caster) and tire balance. One note if you change a worn-out stabilizer the DW might go away. The stabilizer did NOT fix the problem, it is masking it.
I think of all the questions in the world to be asked, it's about BW.
I think there is a sticky even. Not sure. What do I know?
When it happened to me. On 2 separate occasions. It was 2 different reasons.
So my conclusions are. Go through every single piece of your front end. Make sure bushings are healthy. Bolts are tightened. Check cupping on tires (that is if there is cupping of course). And a good ol' alignment.
Start with the least expensive.
