So Im not sure if I'm really going to fix the problem.
Im pretty sure my jeep just tried to commit suicide.
Not sure how, but here is the problem.
The Starter and Solenoid are separate on my 85' 2.5L 4 Cyl.
So there is an odd wire attached to the battery side of the solenoid. And the wire just melted itself through and disintegrated... Yes disintegrated into a wonderful display of calmly floating thick white smoke. There is just white ash where the wire used to be. I have been noticing a burning rubber smell coming from the front passenger side and I didn't know what it was. So I think I know now.
The wires attached to the Solenoid are,
{Battery}{Unknown 2-into one}(Solenoid with ign. wires plugged in){Starter}
Side note: A female factory wire connector above the exhaust manifold and below the air filter housing was pressed against the manifold and melted. It didn't have the male side connected and Im not sure if it is relevant.
I can post pics. Tomorrow though... Night time right now.

you have a ground wire you have a red wire going from battery to starter Solenoid.
then you should have a positive from solenoid to the starter. It sounds like the starter sylenoid that Ford made popular. If so they run about $6.
