Default Dead Spot in Steering

This is on my 2000 Sport, just noticed it today. Have checked everything in the steering linkage by hand (aka push/pull) everything is as tight as ever. Besides the steering linkage, what is something that would be obvious?

It is really weird since I have been wheeling it alot recently and not had any issues but on my way to work this morning there seems to be as best as I can describe a "dead" spot in the steering....

Any help is appreciated.

Yeah let me try and give a better description.

Lets say you are driving straight and the road begins to pull the Jeep left or right...which normally takes only a small adjustment on the steering wheel to counter. Well now that small adjustment doesn't do anything and you have to "oversteer" the wheel to get that small correction.

Not sure if that makes sense?

sounds like a failing ball-joint ,or slop in the steering box, have some one turn the wheel back and forth and look

Found the problem. The bushing is completely shot on the tracbar on the axle end. Pushing around on the tracbar doesn't yield any results but watching the end move around right in the dead spot of the steering you can see it move quite a bit.

Oh well, time to upgrade...hopefully to an IRO double shear tracbar.
