Does anyone know how to deactivate the alarm that came with the 1992 Cherokee. Its a kill switch of some sort, my problem is everytime my battery dies I have to deactivate the alarm by the remote entry button. This push button is going on 16 years old and barely working. Im just afraid of it not working one day and not being able to start my truck.

Does anybody know what im talking about and able to help out...

I know how to on the ZJ's but not sure if the XJ is the same. On the ZJ you have to tare the dash apart to get to the security modual, than start the vehicle while running unplug it, the computer will re-write it out of the system. Than shut off, try to restart to make sure it worked. Than re-assemble. Do alittle more research this might also work for the XJ's. Hope this helps....
