Dash light replacement
My gas gauge light appears to be out. Is this an easy fix or do I have to tear out the dash? It's a 2000 XJ if that makes a difference.

Not too bad. Remove the knee panel, center trim(radio surround), headlight switch, then the column trim. The instrument cluster pries out, held in with those push style connectors. But DO NOT FORGET TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG. Disconnect and isolate (so it can't short to the body) the negative battery cable. Then give it at least 2 minutes so the system capacitor can discharge.
