Alright, I got a dana 35 out of a 92 yj that has 4.56 and a locker. I current have a crysler 8.25 right now. I dont have alot down time for I have a 3month old and only 1 day off a week. I need to make this swap within a day. This is my idea. Find a dana35 out of a cherokee and swapping everything internally over on one day then my next dropping out the chrysler and putting the 35 in it. Now I know 89 and later models do not have c-clip and the 35 I have now does. Could I use the clip style shafts and internals from the 35 I have now and swap it in the 89 and later models and everything work?

 

Just out of curiosity, why would you want the 35 over the 8.25? You can sell the 35, and with that money put in a c clip eliminator and maybe a luch box locker. If you plan on wheeling, I'd stick with the 8.25
