dana 35 question need answers kinda fast

Default dana 35 question need answers kinda fast

has some one made a write up on how to pull the axle shafts out? ive never pulled any thing in an axle and i need to put a wheel bearing in it. if any one has a link with some good info to pull the shaft ide appreciate it or if any one has some tips????

i have a dana 35 in a 1990 xj im sure it has c clips but i cannot get to them beacuse of the lock rite locker so if i pull the 1/4 bolt that holds the pin in and pull the big pin in where do i go from there with the locker. i need to be able to get to school tomorow so please help me real quick. i need to put a wheel bearing in it

Pull the pinion shaft out. Push in real hard on you axles at the wheels. You will see the inner axle ends in the middle of the carrier. Pop the "C" clips off and pull the axle shafts out. You basic "C" clip axle. Just the lunch box locker makes it a little harder, not much, though.

i got it all done today by my self... its my first time workin on the inside of an axle and it all works !!! did all the rear breaks to from brake shoes and wheel cylinders to all the hard were

Not even close.....

the D-30 is a front axle with unit hubs...
The D-35 in our application is a rear axle, and his particular one uses a c-clip retainer... an Open diff is a piece of cake.. but his is made trickier by the fact he has a lock right locker. You have to line up the locker gears and drop the clip out through the notch...

well I was trying to help him out. Never had to tear down my axle before so I was clueless myself and just googled it for him and thats all I could find.
Good to hear that you got it done yourslef though bud, eventhough I tried sending you in the oposite direction aparently

well i think im pretty lucky beacuse i just was layin under the truck on a creeper looking at it an it just clicked. i got it out cake and rite back in cake to i actualy had fun doing it and ive been drivin it all day with no prob... next up is gettin my dana 60 and 40 under it!! i cant wait to have fulll widths under it. will i be ok runnin 35's with 4.10s?? it has 4.56's in it now

Um, Dude....you're heading the wrong direction on your gearing. With 35s and a 4.0 liter you should actually be running 4.88 gears. You could live with 4.56s but, 4.88s would be better.

Not just for pulling the axles alone but also to change the seals but you will see how to pull the shafts..
