Default Dana 35 question i know its redundant

I just got a two door jeep had another jeep with a 8.25 rear. new jeep has dana 35c,with abs. Previous vehicle didnt have abs. Wanted to know if this will cause an issue when swapin in the 8.25 rear end, I also wanted to know if a Dana 35 can handle DD with 33s i have them on now trimmed no lift and it rides fine highway 30miles everyday dont really wanna beat on this jeep as bad sadly just a mall crawler till its paid off

Does MA have vehicle inspections to renew the tags? If so then you may run into an issue when it is time to renew. In some states they do a complete vehicle inspection and if it had ABS from the factory then it must be in working order or it will fail. Each state has different laws so it would be wise to check on the laws where you live.

The 8.25 has a larger axle tube diameter than the D35 so the original u-bolts will not fit. They are to narrow.

Ya your axle tube is bigger and depending on what kind of lift you do you may need longer ones

It is always highly recommended to use new u-bolts when changing axles or installing a lift. They endure a lot of stress throughout their life and reinstalling and retorqueing them puts them at risk of failure.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the D35 for a DD. I will handle all typical road conditions and driving styles with no issues at all. It is when it has the turn the extra weight of oversize tires in an offroad setting that it becomes the weak link. Especially when the driver has a heavy right foot.
