Default d30 low pinion to high pinion swap

I found a guy who's selling just the hp axle housing for a 98 cherokee with 3.55s in it. Will the shafts from my 01 work in it?

Axle shafts yes, driveshaft maybe NO. Low pinion should have a longer DS.

Yea I already clarified that the driveshaft will work with hp from the ask a question thread. I just ran into this housing and needed an answer real fast.

as long as it is a non-disconnect axle, cause if it is then you need to change the axle seal on the passenger side, otherwise you will get blow-by

he said its from a 1998 so that means non-disco, and means the shafts will run the spicer 297x u joints which can be supplemented with the spicer 760xu joint, which is larger bodied and stronger.

yeah, but don't change the joints until you need to. the 297's are fine for now, unless they are worn out. then yeah, try to get the 760's for replacement.
