Default d30 hp vs hp?

Which would be a better choice:

1991 d30 hp with this http://compare.ebay.com/like/3304345...=sbar&_lwgsi=y

or

1994 d30 hp?

Not worried about gearing.

Not sure if the 1994 still uses the two piece axle, but the extra lever isn't that big of a deal IMO.

I've considered converting to that cable system on my 87.

The 91 has a two piece axle that with the posi-lock I can engage/desengage whenever I want by cable.

I personally would go for a D30 that isn't a disconnect style axle. Try finding one like that instead because it is a single shaft on the passenger side plus it's still a high pinion.

I think having the 2 piece axle would be a big drawback. More stuff to break. Go with the 94.

As opposed to the stock vacuum actuated system.

I would think that with extra parts there is more to break. I've never torched mine or.had any issues. But I don't wheel all that hard.

I'm not too familiar with these two-piece axles, if I were to weld the front dif, could I disengage the cable would I still get power to one wheel?

go with the two piece 94 d30. Less headache with the disconnect, and bigger/stronger u-joints.
