Hi, I'm wondering if there are any good areas to mount D rings on a stock front and rear bumper? Like where on the frame, behind the bumper or under it? Thanks.

These might be what you are looking for;

For the rear, I would honestly just get a trailer hitch and one of the D-ring recovery hitch adapters. Double purpose

You'll need something that ties them into the "frame". Either stock-style tow-hook brackets (like the ones investinwaffles linked) , aftermarket brackets, some kind of custom bracket, or an aftermarket bumper with frame tie-ins.
The stock bumper is only stamped sheet metal (maybe 16-18 ga.) and the only thing holding it to the brackets are 4 (2 ea. side) torx screws and clip-nuts, definitely not something you want to pull a vehicle with. DO NOT just bolt D-rings to the bumper if you ever plan on using them for towing/recovery, they will likely rip through the bumper or rip the bumper off the mounts and may seriously injure or kill someone.

Here's an option

I like the IRO ones because it's one piece. The crossmember provides great lateral support to discourage the unibody rails from squishing together. 4 bolts per side is enough to make me feel comfortable, it's about the same as a trailer hitch. I would definitely recommend getting the d-rings instead of the tow hooks even though they're pricier

There are just too many aftermarket inexpensive bumpers out there just consider one like this www.roxolidtrailarmor.com their Razor Series bumper with D-Ring mounts on them. This one is Powder Coated HD and shipped for $240. They have very nice high quality, well made bumpers I have one of their "Crawler Series" rear Swing Out Tire Carrier bumpers and love it had for 2 yrs now and it was $600 shipped. All they make are XJ bumpers and some builder parts.
